What is H1N1 flu or swine flu?
H1N1 flu, sometimes called swine flu, is a influenza virus was first appear in April 2009 in the United States . The H1N1 flu virus causing illness in people and is spreading from person-to-person.
H1N1 virus was originally referred to as swine flu because many of the genes in this new virus were similar to influenza viruses that normally come up in swine in North America. But a second study has shown that this new virus is finally different.
What are the symptoms of H1N1 flu in people?
The symptoms of H1N1 flu virus in people are :
- sore throat,
- runny or stuffy nose,
- muscular aches,
Some people may have respiratory symptoms without a fever.
How can you protect your health ?
Facemask and Respirator Use (FFP2 mask) reduce Influenza A (H1N1) Virus Transmission. FFP2 masks protect splashes or sprays from reaching the mouth and nose of the person wearing the facemask.
FFP2 mask have to be used once and then thrown away in the trash.
Cover your nose and mouth with a tissue when you cough or sneeze. Throw the tissue in the trash after you use it.
Wash your hands often with soap and water.You can too use an alcohol-based hand rub.
Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth.
Try to avoid close contact with sick people.
